Surprisingly, we have a lot of fieldfares this year. Although last year there were a lot of fruits on the rowan trees, which attracted birds almost all winter with their large red berries, there were not many blackbirds. The berries remained hanging in their clusters until spring.
I hope this year the rowan berries will not go to waste and the visiting rowan thrushes will feast on them. These birds sometimes fly in whole flocks onto rowan trees. It鈥檚 so interesting to watch how these birds deftly throw rowan berries into their beaks.
They know how to deftly find worms on the ground. They quickly pull them out of the ground and find them under fallen leaves. These birds are very curious. They can look at people who approach them for a long time.
Their voices are easily distinguished from other birds and are well recognizable. You can recognize them from afar. Especially when they arrive in flocks. It's always interesting to watch and listen to how they talk to each other. They never conflict with each other. Everyone patiently waits for their turn as they sit near bunches of rowan berries.
