My First Pickleball Experience at Pickle Point
Friday morning, a beautiful day to play. Yesterday, I went to the new facility here in Molave called “Pickle Point.” I went there with my best friend, Liezel, and her daughter, EJ. These days, pickleball is very popular. I have a couple of friends who play pickleball, and it is also very popular on social media. I decided to try pickleball because I like sports, and my friends have been recommending it to me. All I noticed about pickleball was that it has a little similarity to table tennis. Yesterday was the first time I played this sport, and it was fun.
This is the front of the gym. It looks conducive for playing, right? Just looking at it makes you wanna play. I like the ambiance of this gym. It looks refreshing and clean. Their new facilities caught my attention right away. I expected a spacious and well-lit gym. When I arrived, the place exceeded my expectations. It is quite spacious, and the ceiling is so high. I am also glad to see that there are restrooms inside the gym.
When I entered the facility, I noticed their spacious waiting area, with stacked chairs placed at the side to be used by anyone who’s waiting for their chance to play. The court and the waiting area are divided by an interlinked wire fence that is approximately shoulder-level high to protect the players from loose balls. The waiting area also has a table attached to that divider where you can put your things.
Just like what I shared, yes! It was my first time, and I enjoyed it so much. I absolutely didn’t know the rules of the game, so my friend taught me the rules. Thankfully, since I played table tennis before, I didn’t have a hard time using the pickleball paddle. What was difficult for me was doing the serve and controlling the strength I used when striking the ball. I made mistakes and hit the ball out of bounds, but it was really awesome. It was such a great experience.
If you haven’t played it, I’m telling you, it wasn’t popular for nothing. It is such a good sport. Try it, guys!
