Yesterday I shared a mini life update after being away from Hive for more than three weeks. Today I though I would share a little bit more and follow up with some photos I have.
Sunset view
I used to have this habit of going outside when the sun is setting and just enjoy the view from our garden. Lately I hardly ever do it which is a shame. There was always something magical and calming in this scenery, something that made me feel present and grateful, that made me admire the nature's beauty. I really want to get back into this habit and feeling, especially since the autumn sunsets are super pretty.
Winter prep
Let me tell you, this was a workout! My job here was to help load the trailer but my dad was the only one who was stacking it since he wanted to do it by himself, his own way. It took us a few days to finish it and later on we added a cover so all the wood stays dry and protected from the rain.
Hazelnut harvest
This was mainly my task that I took upon myself. When I do things by myself, I often get into that meditative state of mind where I just zone out from the world and just get really present in the moment. Collecting hazelnuts under the tree, spreading them out to dry and then collect them is something I really enjoyed doing.
Pepper harvest
The last big harvest in our garden this season! It kind of makes me sad that the gardening season is pretty much over but I guess that the circle closing so we can do it all over again next year. All the peppers on these photos were fermented so they are nice and ready for winter. Few days after that we made ajvar which is a very popular side dish here in Serbia and Balkan in general.
Goodbye, plum tree
Unfortunately, it was time for the white plum tree to go (it's all gone, I just took this picture while my dad was taking a break from chopping it down). It was one of the biggest trees that got old and gave us insane amount of plums this year, so much that the big branches started to bend down and one of them broke. This area now looks so bare but we have other smaller trees that will probably fill it up once they grow. We are still decluttering and cleaning up this entire area so hopefully it will look nicer before the winter starts. Somehow there's always some sort of clutter (junk) that ends up here and it's kind of annoying but it definitely look better than before.
New haircut and treating myself
As I mentioned in my previous post, I finally got a haircut that I needed. Even though I liked my hair length, split ends are not a cute look at all, lol. There is also a feeling of weight being lifted of your shoulders that comes with a big chop. :D It's also a lot easier to manage shorter hair in the winter. I got a nice hair mask and I'll do my best to take better care of my hair so it can get long and healthy. In September I also bought quite a few makeup/beauty products and few other things I have been meaning to get for some time but I felt like I couldn't afford. So I was like 'let's get rid of this poor mentality and give yourself a treat for once'. I don't buy things like this often anyway so it really feels like a treat to get some new makeup products, perfume, wallet...
