Everyone has been termed a JJC at some in life. For some persons that this abbreviation might sound new to, JJC means Jonny Just Come. I can't actually tell how this came to be but from what I know it is usually used to define someone that is new to a place or an act.
So if you happen to be in an environment or tend to try out something you have not done before, people who have been there before see you as a JONNY JUST COME. And most times if the JJC is not smart enough they take advantage of you either by scamming or using you.
For me, I have been labelled a JJC countless times but I just feel good about myself knowing that I was smart enough those times and never got scammed or used. Also, talking about scam in general I haven't fallen victim as well probably because I've learnt from people's experience and so get very careful when doing some business deals with people and also in the online space. Unfortunately, the online space has become so toxic these days as everyday, millions of people get scammed there either with their clear eyes or through a diabolic way but whichever way, I'm glad I've not been scammed before.
So I'll be telling you today how my JJC friend got scammed with her clear eyes. lol
She happened to be a fresh student that just got admitted to the university. She didn't want to stay in the school hostel and so was in need of a lodge off campus. She searched and searched for a lodge and didn't find the one that met her standard cus she actually had taste for the kind of lodge she'll love to stay.
So at that moment she was squatting with her aunt and never felt comfortable staying with her cus for her she didn't have the freedom she needed, so she was just in a hurry to get an accommodation so she could have her freedom.
So one fateful day, she came across an advert on her school's Facebook page advertising some new lodges that was just built almost close to the school gate. She went through the pictures of the new lodges and she felt happy cus that was the kind of lodge she needed. She quickly chatted the guy that made the post and they agreed to meet very early in the morning the next day to check the lodge. When she got there, she needed no one to tell her that she has finally got what she wanted, Immediately, she asked for the amount and the payment details. She was told the amount only, she was waiting to get the payment details so she could head to the bank to make the payment, but the guy told her that there was no need that she will just be given a receipt after she hands the cash over to him.
Probably due to how happy she was that she finally found the lodge of her dreams and also that she was finally moving out of her aunt's house, she forgot to think twice about the whole matter. She went to the bank, made a withdrawal of 120k that's about $240 and headed back to the lodge and handed over the cash to the guy after which she was given a receipt.
She finally moved in, and within a week, she discovered she was scammed!
The main care taker of the lodge confronted her and asked her to get her payment receipt and lodge agreement papers. Of course, she didn't have the agreement papers but just had a fake receipt with a fake name and signature馃槬
She could not even remember the guy's face that she had given her lodge rent to.
She was thrown out the lodge and had nowhere to go to and she never welcomed the thought of going back to her aunt's place. Luckily for her, she met with my own room mate and explained the ugly incident to her, she felt pity for her and brought her to our lodge to stay with us.
As we analysed the whole incident, we realized she was scammed by street guys in the school environment that take advantage of fresh students who just got admission into school. Also, coupled with the fact that they went to see the lodge very early in the morning when no one would notice them. Aah! they took advantage of my Jonny Just Come friend and scammed her of her lodge rent. It was really a sad experience for her cus it took her a while to recover from the ugly incident.
