ยกHola, hola, bookhivers!

Hello, hello, bookhivers! I hope you are doing great. What a joy to be back here writing for you, know that I missed you a lot and I'm back with good recommendations. During my sort of "pause" in Hive I read a lot and got several wonderful books that I'm dying to show you.
If you read my mid-year Book Tag you know that one of my 2023 goals was to read "Malibu Rising" by the queen Taylor Jenkins Reid and I did it. You really have no idea how much I loved this book and it enshrined Taylor as one of my favorite writers, but I better not get ahead of you and let's go point by point.
Nina, Hud, Jay and Kit are the famous and mysterious Riva siblings, children of the mythical singer Mick Riva, who, while he devoted himself to being disgustingly famous, abandoned them and their mother to poverty for more than a decade. Now Nina is a supermodel and surfer, Hud a famous photographer, Jay a champion surfer and little Kit still has an incredible life left to discover. Like every year, Nina has organized an apotheosic public party full of celebrities, each brother has set his own expectations for the promising night, what none of them knows is that by the next morning the Riva House will be nothing but ashes, because there will always be some Riva who enjoys engulfing everything in flames.
Between nostalgia, tenderness, secrets and laughter, Taylor Jenkis Reid gives us a family that embraces our hearts.
The setting of Taylor's books are at another level, in this case "Malibu Rising" is a mix between melancholy and beach freshness, all the characters are back and forth in a small town, everyone knows each other and makes you feel that things happen very fast.
On the other hand, Taylor alternates the past with the present in a perfect structure, she leaves you hanging in both times and at the same time they complement each other, we understand Nina, why she gives herself to her brothers and everything that her parents' relationship meant to her.
I hurt and love Nina's character in equal parts, how quickly she had to mature and how hard she worked to keep her family together being the young head of her household. In more than one scene my heart was squeezed because I just wanted Nina to live her life and someone to take care of her too.
It has beautiful lines, there are many memorable moments that I know I will remember in the future with a smile because the Riva brothers took a part of my heart. And I find it important that the characters that accompany the main characters are more than filler, and when I get links that come out of the books I fall in love with the story a lot.
The literary universe linked by details that Taylor is building between The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Daisy Jones And The Six, Carrie Soto Is Back and Malibu Rising seems epic to me, each one has its own essence but it is very well perceived that they happen in the same era, besides, I saw in this book Carrie Soto in action again and it amazes me how being reunited with a character made me so happy and that Taylor Jenkins Reid made me feel that way has a lot of merit.
Personally it was a 5/5, I had an amazing time with this book.
So far this review, remember that you can always leave me your opinion in the comments and recommendations of literary families that have made you very happy. I send you my love.
