You May Remember This One...
...From about two weeks ago when I first shared a very rough work in progress with you awesome folks on STEEM. I had probably spent about half a day constructing it at that point and when I listened back to the clip I shared, it's come a very long way since then.
Total time spent in the music studio getting to this point has probably been about 2-3 hours per day for 10 days so we're looking at a good 30 hours of effort over the holiday period, which is not bad going considering everything that's been going on in 3D world.
Certainly no complaints from my side, it's been great to have the creative bug again and next year is shaping up to be a pretty busy one on the music side with releases already lined up every couple of weeks until April 10th 2020 and I'll be sharing more of those as the time comes.
8 Days
But this track I'm about to share with you is one of those "unscheduled" ones that caught me by surprise.
A couple of months ago, I watched a programme on the BBC called "8 Days to the Moon and Back", which is a really cool hybrid dramatisation using a combination of real footage, recordings and images of the Moon Landings from when Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins made that once in a lifetime trip to the Moon and back in 8 days.
Of course, what had totally slipped my mind at the time was that this year (or what's left of it) is the 50th anniversary of the Moon landings. When I was watching the programme though, the musical team who created the score to accompany the storytelling had me hypnotised by the sounds they came out with and some of the melodies, even up to the end credits really grabbed my imagination and I couldn't get it out of my head.
And so I wanted to try and replicate the melodies I heard with my own twist on it in my music software. What I'm about to share with you will be left for your listening pleasure, ironically for 8 days before I take it down on Soundcloud. This is just a clip but it's a lot more complete and I'll be sending off the full track to the mastering studio I use in London for release in 2020.
I hope you enjoy the Drum & Bass journey to the Moon 馃槂 馃殌
