Tresse from Våld Labs showed up on my radar with the 1.3.0 update this week, and I had to try it. This thing is a dual layer polysynth with 39 synthesis engines crammed inside. 24 of them carry the DNA of the classic multi-engine macro oscillator approach, so you get VA, FM, wavetable, additive, granular, speech synthesis, chords, resonators, drums, and then Våld Labs added 15 of their own engines on top: Karplus-Strong plucks, modal and sympathetic string resonators, CZ style phase distortion, bytebeat, wavefolding, complex FM, drawbars. That is a lot of weird to work with, and weird is what I want.

The generative side is the part that really got me. Each of the two layers has its own Vekte sequencer with seven algorithms to pick from: wave interference, Euclidean, random walk, logistic map, cellular automata, Kaprekar, Fibonacci. Polymetric up to 64 steps, with scale, chord, probability, swing and humanisation controls. Two layers each writing their own evolving pattern at the same time. I fed it some filthy bass drone material and it started mutating into these crawling, rusted machine rhythms on its own. For industrial textures and happy accidents, this is gold. The modal string resonators through the wavefolder get you into genuinely harsh territory fast.

Under the hood each layer has its own morphing SEM style filter, independent amp and filter envelopes, per-voice drift, detune, portamento, chorus and a crush/distortion stage. Three LFOs plus two generative MOD lanes, syncable to host tempo. And the patch sharing is a nice touch: any patch compresses down to a text key or QR code you can send a friend.

Fair warning on price: the desktop licence (VST3/AU on Mac, VST3 on Windows) is 29.99 euros as a one-time purchase with all 1.x updates included. The iOS version is free to download with optional unlocks. It grew out of a hardware prototype, so expect a knob-dense UI. The screenshot above is the real deal from their site.

For thirty euros, a 39-engine generative monster that builds its own patterns is an easy call in my book.
