Out of the mud that prisons me
Soiled as a pig from crown to toe
I thank whatever fates there be
For my unbending soul
Here, in the icy hands of circumstance
I have not flinched nor cried a drop
And with this heart of gallantry
My stoicism will not flail
No matter what the atonement maybe
Nor how much the penance I pay
The night finds me unafraid
And the morning rays pull me to light
