Slowly but surely Splinterlands have been building nicely in the background. One of the oldest and more than likely the longest lasting web3 game they have long since led the way and more importantly survived when nobody else could.

You have to think that at some stage the team will get the recognition they deserve for surviving where nobody else has. Not only that they have managed to grow and innovate on a tiny budget on a tiny chain. It's impressive really.

One of the latest ideas was black and arcane cards. Originally I didn't have much interest in these black foil cards being a big gold collector in the game but having seen a few cheap ones showing up on the market and wanting to compete in modern tournaments I couldn't help but pick up a few.

Not the most expensive cards on the market but interestingly enough these maxed out cards have almost 25k collection power which is huge for the money that they cost.

In comparison the gold foil summoners that I am try to max out cost upwards on $300 - $1000 and have 70k collection power. At those prices it is well worth buying up a few of them an interestingly they are cheaper than the gold foil versions for some reason even though they are a better card.

I don't have much of a modern collection but now is a good time to build up a few extra cards that can help me in all formats and get me into the bigger modern tournaments.

It's the easiest way to make money in the game just by entering tournaments and with more collection power comes more prize money. A win win.
