As someone with a great sense of humor, I do love the fact that I was born and get to live my life in this particular era because I can imagine how Bork’s life would have been if I had to deal with people who didn’t understand even a piece of what is going on in my mind.

I lobe to have a good conversation with people because it’s part of one of the ways I bond with people whether in person or over text. If I’m to be honest, most people find me weird but I see and know that they are just not on the intellectual level that I am because when I meet my type of people, it’s always god damn party. Social media as we all know has grown to become an integral part of our lives today. Almost everything we do today to some extent is tied to social media.

For someone like myself trying to build a life of my own in a far away place, half of my life is tucked behind this same social media I talk about today. Behind those texts, emojis, stickers and what have you are friends and loved ones whose existence I value. These messages aren’t just a normal thing to me , they are hope that life does get better and things would soon change for the better for me.

I’m not much of a social media person but at this point in my life , I don’t really have a choice. I have to text my mom and dad everyday because even though I’m not with them currently, they still need my help with one or two things. Then we have my siblings and friends. These group of people are those I don’t need to text everyday. We sometimes wake up and send stickers, gifs and memes all day. That alone is enough to tell you the person on the other end of the phone is alive and well.

And I mean, who in this century doesn’t make use of stickers, memes and what have you. A text wouldn’t really send the message of the weird look on my face after my sister says something silly. I’d rather take a picture of my face and frame it into a gif or sticker for her- that’s real time interaction for you these. At this stage, I can say I barely send texts to most people, all I have to say are in the over 200 stickers, memes and other stuff I have at my disposal. Hell, even my parents who I consider a bit old use stickers and all of that, the problem here might be that they kind of use it wrongly which makes me laugh a lot. I would like to believe that everyone is embracing the idea of adding extra stuff to the raw texts we send out everyday.
