It has to me! Just look at the the photo I even won bingo half pissed.
I got to ski for every day three years in a row.
And I have got to travel to over 30 different countries. This old snap was a ferry ride out to Tioman Island of the East Coast of Malaysia.
Seriously though, I don't really think it there has been that much luck, involved. Maybe the small bingo win and being born into middle class stable family in a country with it's fair share of resources has helped.
But basically the majority of everything I have got to experience has come from good old bloody hard work. Ever since I was old enough I worked two jobs. Different jobs after school on different days. Even when I started my electrical apprenticeship I kept one of the evening part time jobs as long as I could.
Then as a Young tradesman I worked as many hours as possible. Even when I started travelling I worked more hours than anybody else in the ski resort.
When all my mates and friends were in the pub and spending everything everything they earned, I was madly saving trying to scrap enough together for a deposit on the cheapest bit of real estate I could find.
It took a while to scrap a deposit and a bit of a buffer. But I got the cheap unit and rented it out.
My parents were proud, I was able to get my foot in the door with some real estate even though my mates thought I was crazy getting into a big loan.
Eventually rents and real estate prices went up and it set myself up for the next stage of my life.
