Hi everyone!

I have to state from the start that this is an entry to the Proof Of Brain (POB) word of the week hosted by calumam@calumam. The game is, he gives a word every week and everyone is free to do whatever they want to the word of the week in a post.

This week's word is the word 'bizzare' that is why I quite feel at ease talking about something like this that might freak some people out, offend their beliefs or have their tempers and senses all over the place. On a normal day I'd probably not talk about this but the week's word is bizzare, quite an excuse to talk about unsettling stuff. If you don't like to be unsettled you can skip this post and go read some ass and titties stories on my blog, but:

Note, though, that I'm not about to blaspheme or make mockery of a revered and dearly held book, I'm only going to be showing you what the book says and letting it do the talking. It would be just like any reading of the Bible you've had in the past, only that this time we'd be reading parts we don't usually read. Parts that I've come to find that most people who have been in the religion and even held great positions in it for ages seem not to even know.

So what's going on is I have actually had a lot of conversations in the past about religion and the Bible because I live in a Christian society. And a lot of times I bring up some parts of the Bible that says a particular thing and people see how bizzare it is and tell me that I just made it up. They'd argue vehemently until show it to them in the Bible. I once brought up stuff like that to a man who is about 60 years old, he has been a Christian since he was born, he has been a deacon in his church for about 15 years, he has taught in Sunday School classes for over 20 years, but when I brought this stuff up he got angry with me and told me I was just making things up that he would bring his Bible and he challenges me to show him what I just said. I showed him and he was dumbfounded. In all those years he had never came across this stuff.

You wouldn't believe how many times things like this have happened. It just turns out there are many parts of the Bible people don't get to read, but luckily for everyone it is the bizzare week in the Proof Of Brain Word of the Week (POB-wotw) challenge and we're going to be checking out the bizzare stuffs in the Bible. I am your host ArchBitchchop Archbishop Nevies and... Here we go:

Instead of mentioning the parts/stories of the Bible we already know and trying to show how they're bizzare, I'm going to be mentioning only the ones that are most uncommon, the ones most deep Christians don't even know, and the ones that there's no way you can argue them into sounding good. I'd most probably not mention a single thing you expect me to mention. So here we go!

Bizzare Things in the Bible

(1) God permits you to sell your daughter into slavery.
Bible portion: Exodus 21 vs 7 to 11

7“And if a man sells his daughter to be a female slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do. 8If she does not please her master, who has betrothed her to himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt deceitfully with her. 9And if he has betrothed her to his son, he shall deal with her according to the custom of daughters. 10If he takes another wife, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marriage rights. 11And if he does not do these three for her, then she shall go out free, without paying money.

And you know what was usually done to female slaves back in the day? Here is a common rare photo that quite captures it:

(2) God wants women/girls to attone for the Sin of Menstruation and Wants Men to attone for the sin of involuntary ejaculation that happens unconsciously in your sleep.
Bible portion: Leviticus 15 vs 16 to 30

16 “‘When a man has an emission of semen, he must bathe his whole body with water, and he will be unclean till evening. 17 Any clothing or leather that has semen on it must be washed with water, and it will be unclean till evening. 18 When a man has sexual relations with a woman and there is an emission of semen, both of them must bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening.

19 “‘When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening.

20 “‘Anything she lies on during her period will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean. 21 Anyone who touches her bed will be unclean; they must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening. 22 Anyone who touches anything she sits on will be unclean; they must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening. 23 Whether it is the bed or anything she was sitting on, when anyone touches it, they will be unclean till evening.

24 “‘If a man has sexual relations with her and her monthly flow touches him, he will be unclean for seven days; any bed he lies on will be unclean.

25 “‘When a woman has a discharge of blood for many days at a time other than her monthly period or has a discharge that continues beyond her period, she will be unclean as long as she has the discharge, just as in the days of her period. 26 Any bed she lies on while her discharge continues will be unclean, as is her bed during her monthly period, and anything she sits on will be unclean, as during her period. 27 Anyone who touches them will be unclean; they must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening.

28 “‘When she is cleansed from her discharge, she must count off seven days, and after that she will be ceremonially clean. 29 On the eighth day she must take two doves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 30 The priest is to sacrifice one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. In this way he will make atonement for her before the Lord for the uncleanness of her discharge.

Most girls feel a lot of pain when they menstruate and they hate menstruation. Many of them would give anything to stop menstruating. Now imagine telling them that this involuntary act of menstruation that they hate with such a passion is actually a sin they have to attone for?

(3) When you rape a virgin, your punishment is, no sorry, my bad, no punishment for you, you would just have to settle the girl's father and the raped virgin would now be your wife.
Bible portion: Deuteronomy 22 vs 28 to 29

28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered,29 he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives

Think about the pains of being raped, then think about the pains of being raped as a virgin! Think about the raped girl and how she has to now live with her rapist and be his loving wife.

(4) How do we view Joyce Meyer and all the other female pastors and gospel preachers? And how do they go around preaching in churches while holding a book that says:
Women should keep quiet in church, if they want to inquire about anything they should ask their husbands when they get home for it is a disgrace for women to talk in church.
Bible portion: 1 Corinthians 14 vs 34 to 35

Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

And:

11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.1 Timothy 2 vs 11

(5) God saw Moses one day and was about to kill him but Moses's wife took a sharp Stone and cut off the foreskin of her son's penis and touched Moses's feet with it. And because of this,.God let Moses be.
Exodus 4 vs 24 to 26

24 At a lodging place on the way, the Lord met Moses and was about to kill him. 25 But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off her son’s foreskin and touched Moses’ feet with it. “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me,” she said. 26 So the Lord let him alone.

(6) Saul says he would not take any other bride price for his daughter, but that the suitor David should pay with 100 foreskins from the penises of Philistines. David rode off with his men and came back with 200 foreskins from the penises of the and counted them in front of Saul before Saul let him marry his daughter
Bible portion: 1 Samuel 18 vs 24 to 27

24 When Saul’s servants told him what David had said, 25 Saul replied, “Say to David, ‘The king wants no other price for the bride than a hundred Philistine foreskins, to take revenge on his enemies.’” Saul’s plan was to have David fall by the hands of the Philistines.

26 When the attendants told David these things, he was pleased to become the king’s son-in-law. So before the allotted time elapsed, 27 David took his men with him and went out and killed two hundred Philistines and brought back their foreskins. They counted out the full number to the king so that David might become the king’s son-in-law. Then Saul gave him his daughter Michal in marriage.

(7) God discriminates against disabled people by saying everyone is fit to make sacrifices unto him except disabled people and dwarves
Bible portion: Leviticus 21 vs 16 to 23

16 The Lord said to Moses, 17 “Say to Aaron: ‘For the generations to come none of your descendants who has a defect may come near to offer the food of his God. 18 No man who has any defect may come near: no man who is blind or lame, disfigured or deformed; 19 no man with a crippled foot or hand, 20 or who is a hunchback or a dwarf, or who has any eye defect, or who has festering or running sores or damaged testicles. 21 No descendant of Aaron the priest who has any defect is to come near to present the food offerings to the Lord.He has a defect; he must not come near to offer the food of his God. 22 He may eat the most holy food of his God, as well as the holy food; 23 yet because of his defect, he must not go near the curtain or approach the altar, and so desecrate my sanctuary.

(8) Jesus Christ was in a room with a group of men and he told them his second coming known as the rapture, the end of days would be in the lifetime of some of these men. According to Christians, 2000 years has gone by now and Christ's second coming has still not happened.
Matthew 16 vs 27 to 28

27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done. 28 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

Isn't it rather strange that the religion based on the second coming has lasted for this long when the promised period of the second coming is already 2000 years late?
