She has no name, only form, a snake slithering from a basket...she was born with no legs, and scales like a serpent. A muscular appendage, a mermaid.
She was sold out of India, on her second birthday.
"The Real Mermaid"
She was thrown in a green pool, floundering. She swim! The sunburned people shaded their eyes, big bug sunglasses and hats. She performed.
The Americans called her Flipper, and came in droves to see her.
She missed her mother.
The people loved to watch her with the dolphins. Flippers.
They called her 'Flippers' child of the dolphins, but each day she would come up gasping for breath.
She was throttled until she bled, and she learned how to hold her breath, despite drowning.
She never escaped.
