Aquรญ, en este lugar que muchos podrรญan tachar de simple yermo, he venido a darme cuenta de una lecciรณn muy importante que he tenido en mi vida y no sabรญa.

Today, during a long day of consultations, as is customary, I usually talk with the mothers of my young patients, whom I have known for a long time, as their children have been my patients since they were born. One of those conversations left me thinking when that mother told me that she hoped one day I could go work in another country as a neurologist, that there I would be paid well, would perhaps have more economic prosperity and even better performance for the well-being of my patients. Believe me, those words stayed in my mind for several hours until I arrived home.
Right at the entrance to my house, I noticed something different: a small patch of romerillo was growing beside the sidewalk, and perhaps by association of ideas, I couldn't resist the impulse to think and write to you. You see, there was a time when you believed that to flourish you needed perfect soil, and now, this little patch of romerillo seems to whisper a very profound truth to me. Here, in this place that many might dismiss as mere wasteland, I have come to realize a very important lesson that I've had in my life without knowing it.
For years, I thought I should seek more fertile ground; I believed with an almost naive faith that happiness and success would come when I finally found the perfect conditions: the ideal job, the dream city, the perfect partner. I strived to fit into terrains that were not mine, trying to be an oak tree where I was only meant to be romerillo. Sometimes I found myself wearing down while wondering why I didn't bloom with the same intensity as others.
But then I look at these flowers and, although they are not the exotic orchids my neighbor has, nor the perfect roses from greenhouses, they are small, resilient, almost timid individually but overwhelmingly beautiful when together. They grow here, in this land that can be arid and stony, under an unforgiving sun. They do not wait for torrential rains or for a gardener to plant them in a pot. These romerillo plants take root wherever their seeds fall, and they not only survive, but they also bloom and explode in a white and yellow feast like a hymn of resistance.
So I think the time has come to ask: why did I get such a difficult terrain? I think it's time to question: what can I do here and now, with what I have and with who I am?
My stony terrain has perhaps been the anxiety that accompanied me like a shadow for years, and comparing myself to others acted perhaps like a weed that sucks the sap of joy, making me believe that the neighbor's garden was always greener than mine.
Today, seeing that the romerillo does not fight its terrain and does not waste its energy complaining about the stones, but rather secures its roots right among them and uses the stones as an anchor. The romerillo has learned to find every drop of moisture and absorb every ray of sun while adapting.
Therefore, I, who can also be romerillo, have had to learn to strengthen my roots. My roots are my non-negotiable values, like honesty and loyalty to my small tribe, and those are the pillars that support me. And of course, my friends, putting down roots is not about staying static; it's about finding your center of gravity.
Flourishing is not a one-time event, and today, picking these little flowers and putting them in my hair has been like telling everyone that I accept my terrain, I accept my stones, and I still choose to bloom. These flowers in my hair are my conscious joy, my creativity, my voice, and also my strength in publishing this post, shouting that I am no longer looking for the perfect garden and I am very busy creating beauty in my own, while I dig my roots deep into who I am and decorate my path with wildflowers like these.
