I think God sees me as a better ninang (godmother) so He doesn't bother giving me another role in life. And yet, I am starting to believe that I am. Hahaha
Last Saturday, I became a ninang again. Two months ago, I was asked by my cousin to be his son's Ninang on his baptism. Actually, I wasn't asked. I was informed. She didn't forced me yet she wouldn't take No for an answer.
When we arrived at the church, I was fascinated by the color of its facade. Not so bright and not so dull. So I didn't hesitate to let my nephew took a photo of me.
Afterwards, we went inside and waited for a couple of minutes before the Baptism seminar started.
When the catechist arrived, she opened up her talk with a prayer and informed us what to do and what to respond during the ceremony.
The baptism lasted for less than 10 minutes and our baby boy remained behave all throughout. He didn't cry. He seemed enjoying his moment.
And we welcome him in the Christian world with open arms and hearts, wishing and hoping he grows kind and loving, faithful and God-fearing. As a Ninang, I would always be a one call away.
After the ceremony, we went to their house for they set up a small celebration where they prepared foods for lunch. They also invited several guests from work.
When the clock hit 12, I was tasked by my auntie to lead the prayer before we took our lunch.
I also had a chance to talk to my relatives for we seldom see each other. It is when this time that mini-reunions happen.
In occasions like this, it is inevitable to be asked same, same questions I'm always asked about. Questions like When are you getting married? When will you give your parents a grandchild? Everytime I hear them asking me these, I just answered them with a smile. I felt the unneccesity to respond.馃槉 I am slowly getting used to having been asked questions like these and have mastered my answer. No answer is an answer already. Hahaha. ( I will just let them figure it out what that smile means.馃槀)
In life, not all questions have answers and not all questions deserve an answer. As for me, I am competing to none but with my past self. And it is true that we have our own individual timeline. No pressure at all. I am happy with the achievements of the people around me, whether at work or in relationships. I am not in a hurry too. I am enjoying life. I am having a good time with how life surprises me. I am beyond grateful for my small wins lately, from owning a house, getting a promotion, into being part of this platform. I am not in any way less than of a woman just because I am not settled yet.
I put my whole trust to the Lord when He says, "When the time is right, I, the Lord will make it happen." Isaiah 60:22
This is all for today. Thank you so much for reading this far. Be well. Be safe. Until the netswriting.
