When I learned that Rising Star Game had its own version of the Grinch but for Easter, and I saw the image, I knew I had to draw it. There's nothing cooler than a grumpy rocker hare. So I came up with this kind of poster with the hare as the main character, maybe announcing its next concert.
Cuando supe que Rising Star Game tenía su propia versión del Grinch pero para Easter, y vi la imagen, supe que tenía que dibujarlo. Es que no hay nada más genial que una liebre rockera malhumorada. Así se me ocurrió hacer esta especie de cartel con la liebre como protagonista, quizás anunciando su próximo concierto.
The first thing was to make a very simple sketch of the character. I want the drawing to be completely in black and white, as if it were a poster made from an old photocopier. I also want it to have this worn-out effect, with smudged ink and folded paper, I have the perfect texture for that.
Lo primero fue realizar un boceto bien simple del personaje. Quiero que el dibujo sea completamente en blanco y negro, como si fuese un cartel hecho desde una máquina de fotocopias antigua. Además, quiero que al final tenga este efecto de desgaste, tinta corrida y papel doblado, tengo la textura perfecta para eso.
Over my sketch, I traced the first lines, mainly to define the character and the elements of the face and clothing. His signature dark glasses couldn't be missing. I also gave him a T‑shirt with a skull design.
Sobre mi boceto tracé las primeras líneas, sobre todo para delimitar lo que sería el personaje y los elementos de la cara y la ropa. No podían faltar sus distintivos lentes oscuros. También le hice una camiseta con el dibujo de una calavera.
This is how my drawing turned out completed, but I'll add some extras: I'll write in the background in quick handwriting some elements from both the character card description and the game, as well as the date. Finally, I'll overlay the folded paper texture and the photocopy noise texture... and done!
Así quedó mi dibujo completado, pero le agregaremos unos extras: escribiré en el fondo, con una caligrafía rápida, elementos tanto de la descripción de la tarjeta del personaje como del juego, y la fecha. Por último, queda superponer la textura de papel doblado y de ruido de fotocopia... ¡y listo!
