I don't have those problems but I know how it feels, I was addicted to video games several times.
To me is the opposite I am part of some Whatsapp groups where I tend to by missing in action and then people wondering are you ok?
Also I have friends who I text to go on a walk and have some relaxing chat while walking or having coffee and since my online business is open almost the entire day I make tiny breaks in our conversation to check if there isn't a desperate customer asking for attention if not then I continue the stimulating real life chat always adding an "I am extremely sorry" because the people I meet in person usually are worthy to me and I don't waste my time so to me, getting distracted with my phone is an insult to them, they act the same, they excuse themselves if they ever need to check their phone.
With my girlfriend we have a "socialmediatime" battle cry, yeah. Its like 5-25 min time we are sitting together but checking our social media (instagram) without not "interrumping the other" but that's it the rest of the time we enjoy talking to each other how was our day an the daily battles we face.
