other than pretzelrocks you will need a plugin for OBS to use soundtrack. This plugin will add a new audio channel to OBS which will not be listened in the twitch VODS and clips.
That's right this is a plugin for OBS at the beginning and not for Twitch Studio (which nobody uses) or Streamlabs OBS. Separate versions of the plugin will be released later for both.
What also catches the eye directly Soundtrack Client will initially only work on Windows 10. Why do i write something about a Client,it is a OBS Plugin right?
Well I guess the Twitch Soundtrack will be split into two parts, firstly a plugin that will be responsible for the audio channel and promotion of the artists, and secondly a client that will play the music. No plugin for OBS alone is 40 GB!
Every artist of the distribution partners and labels can decide for himself if his music will be playable worldwide via Twitch Soundtrack. As Soundcloud is part of it, indie artists also have the possibility to place their works on Twitch Soundtrack. This might be something for you
According to the FAQ the artist will be displayed for 7 seconds at the beginning and at the end of a track at the bottom of the stream via the plugin.
It is important that you can use Twitch Soundtrack outside of Twitch, but then you don't have the license to do so.This implies that you would violate the copyright.
The announcement of Twitch Soundtrack is a good way for Content Creator to run music in the stream and be on the safe side. For Twitch this is an additional tool to bind Creator to the platform.
I've been put on the waiting list and if you want to do the same click here ! I would like to know what you think of Twitch Soundtrack ?
