I hope you all had lovely time during the holiday season. My holiday is almost over and tomorrow I am back at work. I was fortunate to enjoy a very nice weather. It is still pretty warm and doesn't feel like winter.
The last year was full with surprises in terms of finding new birds. The three owls we saw in the summer as well as the oriole and the baby oriols in the nest are the highlights. But surprises continue and I was happy to discover new woodpecker - The Middle Spotted.
That hole in the tree was drilled long ago and used very often by the starlings.
Another day and another tree with holes. And our friend again.
Since we first encountered it, almost every day we meet this woody in the park. It is smaller than the Great Spotted Woodpecker, the beak is shorter and it has stripes on the chest. Unfortunately I haven't seen the Great Spotted for a very long time. Same is with the Green Woodpecker. The tree, where the Green woodpecker has drilled the holes, were cut. It may be the resaon, the bird to be away and not to come back.

The sparrows are always there. I like to make the first shots of the day of the sparrows. They are always perching or hiding in the bushes right when I enter the park.
However, the sparrowhawk is watching from above and sees everything.
