Being a big fan of the Halloween movies, I think of Michael Myers, "The Shape" as he's credited when I'm doing silhouette shots, especially when I have the hood up. I don't know why, I just try and look a bit scray and ominous, which to anyone who knows me, its probably a bit ridiculous, but there you go!
So the first shot is a very simple closer up shot than normal, backlit with an orange gel and me holding 2 smoke pellets (rather gingerly) in my fingers. The orange of the gel makes it look like flames and something straight out hell coming for you!
From Hell..
The second shot was a zoom pull with the large torch behind a mesh door and me stood in front. The red light was intentional on this one from my head torch but made me think of the Cylons from Battlestart Galactica

Its really difficult to get a good amount of smoke up some time to let the laser lights burn throughbut we did it on this shot. Backlit with orange (again) I then stood very still for at least a minute while the laser burnt in.

And finally the double. Shot just to the side of the last location, there was a narrow but burnt out corridor. which I stood in, backlit to create the larger silhouette and then moved further back, and a gel was added to the torch to burn a second silhouette inside the first.
