Hey friends,
Today's vlog is in relation to mental health. I touch on my own experience and the realisation of where my mind has been these last few months, not being fully aware I was in a bad place until it was reflected back to me since being in the company of a dear friend.
I think mental health is a very important topic of discussion because we have all dealt with it in one way or another whether depression, anxiety, stress. I think normalising these experiences are very important for us because it's easy to feel that you're alone in your experience which can make recognising and working through it a little challenging.
Every person is different in how they deal with things in life but I think there is a huge amount of value in being able to shift the intangible things that whirl around in our minds into something with more substance so we can see it from a different perspective and work with it accordingly. That's why I have always felt like communication is an important tool and figuring out what is the best way that you communicate.
For me, it has always been writing whether automatic or intentional but seeing thoughts laid out gives me the ability to work with them. For others it could be verbal communication, non verbal communication, channeling of energy through creativity - music, dance, movement ect. We all have a language that resonates with us.
After recording this video I saw @harshilpatel's video on mental health - he speaks about the effects of giving more and how that can help elevate some of the deeper emotions we may deal with sometimes.
You can watch his video here: https://steemit.com/dtube/@harshilpatel/7amw9698.
I want this place to be a safe space for open conversation and if you feel that you would like someone to talk to please don't be afraid to reach out.
I appreciate you all so much. 💗
Biggest love to you.
