Hello! And Welcome to I Want to Draw You!
Today is the third episode of a week long series where I will be drawing members of the Steemit and Dtube community. The members chosen were the first 8 people to comment on my video announcing this challenge. It's an opportunity for me to develop my skills and also connect more intimately with the wonderful beings in this community.
The third comment was from @artakush! An amazing and absolutely hilarious fellow member of the
@dtubedaily community. Art's content ranges from unintentional promos, collabs, music and comedy. He always has me in stitches and I am glad to have connected with him during my time on the platform.
I start this episode off with a little yoga flow and in doing so had some revelations.
1 - I have really neglected my practice and my body has stuffed a lot due to the effects of stress and work.
2 - Dtube and Steemit have become like my second job and if I am to continue successfully in the future I need to treat it as such. This means creating structure and balance between work and rest to avoid burnouts!
3 - Everything is always better after yoga. 😌
I was exhausted going into this piece but honestly this has been my favourite to create so far. I didn't feel like I was struggling against anything and the creation process was very organic. I'm not surprised though considering you'll usually see improvement when you practice consistency. I did have intentions to paint this more with the coffee but in the end the paper in my sketchbook didn't handle the water too well. My only critique would be that I need to work on either keeping my pencil sketches light or completely rubbing everything out before inking and painting. I went to rub something out after layering paint and caused a bit of a mess. It was easy enough to fix but I need to work on my patience when it comes to drying paint. I chose the most serious photo of Art as a reference because I've never seen the man look so majestic! 😂
Thanks for being here and I hope you enjoy!
Biggest love to you!
Sarah. 🧡
