Weekly Writing Prompts by CineTV - #9: My Saturday routine.

On Saturdays I am usually with my family in the supermarkets and butcher shops, stocking up on groceries, meats, vegetables and fruits that will serve as our sustenance for the weekend.

We arrive tired, but with the necessary food to face a new week. I am grateful to receive my salary every Friday, as this allows me to anticipate the inflationary effects on food products on a weekly and daily basis.

There are open-air markets, Arab and Chinese stores, and finally supermarket chains. These places are scoured in search of better prices, which is a situation that often exhausts and wears me out. This is typical of a hyperinflationary economy like the Venezuelan one.

Upon arrival we arrange our food in the refrigerator, freezer and pantry, and immediately prepare a quick lunch that could be some spaghetti, a hamburger or a hot dog. At lunch we talk about a specific topic that has affected us during the week.

Afternoons can be alternated with activities such as going to the movies, cleaning the house, sleeping, or watching a movie or series in physical format.

If the series we are watching manages to attract our attention, we wash it in a row as if it were a marathon, in the case of movies we proceed to watch a maximum of two movies if we are not watching series.

I would be lying if I said that on many occasions I fall asleep in front of the screen, and in those cases we jokingly say that we are watching a movie or a series, but rather that the television is watching us.

Sometimes I take a break to write a post on the Hive Blog that could be a movie, a collage, a story or some initiative that catches my attention within the platform.

Our dinner is generally a sandwich accompanied by a juice in bed because we are enjoying or harshly criticizing a series or movie, that is if at twelve o'clock at night tiredness overcomes us and for that reason we turn off the television and finish watching the series or the movie on Sunday.

In this somewhat routine way I spend Saturdays, and these occupations managed to disconnect me from my work at work from Monday to Friday.
