In 1977 the Venezuelan Rock band Resistencia was founded by the Metropolitan University students Ricardo Escobar and César Somoza.
Escobar created the band's logo after the name was chosen in reaction to the influence of foreign bands in Venezuela.
Together with Rodrigo Yoma Aparici (guitar) and Marco Tulio Ciargo (guitar), the group recorded Made in Venezuela (1982) for the record company Color (Corporación Los Ruices).
En el año de 1977 se funda el grupo de Rock venezolano Resistencia por los estudiantes de la Universidad Metropolitana Ricardo Escobar y César Somoza.
Escobar crea el logotipo de la banda despues de que se eligiera el nombre en reacción a la influencia de bandas foráneas en Venezuela.
Junto a Rodrigo Yoma Aparici (guitarra) y Marco Tulio Ciargo (guitarra), el grupo grabó Hecho en Venezuela (1982) para la disquera Color (Corporación Los Ruices).
This song is called Resistance and was the standard of National Rock, played on television, and highlighted the time they did it in another mythical program of Rock in Venezuela called The Music that Shook the World, which was led by the great Green Goblin: Alfredo Escalante. Este tema, se llama resistencia y fue el estandarte del Rock Nacional, tocado en television, y destacandose la vez que lo hicieron en otro programa mitico del Rock en Venezuela llamado la Musica que Sacudio el Mundo, el cual estaba liderizado por el gran Duende Verde: Alfredo Escalante. This album is the peak of heavy rock in Venezuela, oriented towards hard rock. Cesar Somoza, with his powerful voice marks history in the local Heavy Metal, the guitars (Marco Ciargo and Rodrigo Yoma) are an emblem of the musical history of heavy metal in the country and the rhythm section (Ricardo Escobar and Victor Lopez) offers the perfect base for this musical explosion.
With this album the band performed all over the country and almost immediately became synonymous with rock made in Venezuela. A mythical album and way ahead of its time, listening to it was like listening to a mix between Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.
That same year the band participates in the rock opera Lanzas Coloradas, based on a novel by a world renowned Venezuelan writer and scholar named Arturo Úslar Pietri.
They participated in a tribute to the tragically disappeared in a river accident, Grupo Madera in the East Park, a tribute to John Lennon in the Bello Monte's Acoustic Shell. They opened for XTC and Jools Holland and his Millionaires at the Poliedro in Caracas.
Over the years the group performed through several incarnations recording 5 albums in total until 2014.
After forty years, Cesar Somoza and bassist Victor Lopez Inaudi (joined the group in 1983), joined the group to revive the group, accompanied by drummer Franco Melchiorri and guitarist Ruben Gutierrez.

Este disco es el punto máximo del rock pesado en Venezuela, orientado hacia el hard rock. César Somoza, con su voz potente marca historia en el Heavy Metal local, las guitarras (Marco Ciargo y Rodrigo Yoma) son un emblema de la historia musical del heavy metal en el pais y la sección rítmica (Ricardo Escobar y Víctor López) ofrece la base perfecta para esta explosion musical.
Con este disco la banda se presentó en todo el país y casi inmediatamente se convirtió sinónimo del rock hecho en Venezuela. Un disco mitico y muy adelantado a su tiempo, al escucharlo era como si oyeras una mezcla entre Judas Priest e Iron Maiden.
Ese mismo año el grupo participa en la ópera rock Lanzas Coloradas, basada en una novela de un escritor y sabio venezolano muy reconocido a nivel mundial llamado Arturo Úslar Pietri.
Participaron en un homenaje al, tragicamente desaparecido en un accidente fluvial, Grupo Madera en el Parque del Este, un homenaje a John Lennon en la Concha Acústica de Bello Monte. Fueron teloneros para el grupo XTC y Jools Holland and his Millionaires en el Poliedro de Caracas.
A traves de los años el grupo se presenta a traves de varias encarnaciones grabando 5 discos en total hasta el año 2014.
Luego de cuarenta años, se unieron Cesar Somoza y el bajista Victor López Inaudi (se une al grupo en 1983), para revivir al grupo, acompañados del baterista Franco Melchiorri y el guitarrista Ruben Gutiérrez.

Temple of Darkness, is impressive for the level of César Somoza's vocalization, which is impressive even after 41 years.

There are comments that say that the group is scheduling a tour around the country, I hope it is true and I will surely go to enjoy one of those concerts.
