What a big week on Steem! Not only did something happen with Justin Sun & Steemit, but BOTH Steemit and Steempeak released their new and improved front ends today! If you're a mad keen Steem freak like me, you would have been flipping excitedly between both sites and feeling unsure of which one to use! There's a few things we absolutely HAVE to let the community know, so here goes!

However, we're HUGE advocates for the Steempeak front end, and there's a LOT of bells and whistles with the new release, including communities. There's a few things you NEED to know that might confuse you otherwise. Over the coming weeks, things might change a little, so we'll try to keep you posted - if you aren't sure, pop into Discord and ask.

Communities

Thanks to @amygoodrich for highlighting the need for some clarification about blogs, communities and posting on www.naturalmedicine.io.

First of all, it's important to realise that the community and your blog are two separate places.

If you're posting on www.naturalmedicine.io, an AUTOMATIC community tag is provided, meaning that your post goes STRAIGHT to community.

If you want it to appear on your blog, you simply RESTEEM YOUR OWN POST.

Why? Because you might not want anyone BUT the community to read your post. All members of the community will see it - and we have lots of them - and they'll still upvote you of course - but if you want the WHOLE of steem to see it, simply resteem it.

This goes for any time you post in any community on Steempeak or Steemit too.

Witness and Steemit developer @quochuy suggests that Steemit might give an option to resteem WHEN you post to the community, so keep an eye on this too. Steempeak are also considering the same thing.
We can expect a few unexpected things going on as things shift and change and we get the front ends we've always wanted, whether you favour Steemit or Steempeak.

Badges

Steempeak have this cool little feature where you'll see a badge on your profile. It'll look a bit like this:

As you can see, I have the 'Steempeak Tester' badge and the Natural Medicine badge. Pretty soon, they'll be like Pokemon - gotta catch 'em all!

@canadian-coconut and @plantstoplanks both were some of the first to recieve badges yesterday!

For now, we're giving badges to people who delegate 200 SP and over, OR are pretty active members of the community who write a lot of #naturalmedicine posts or work for us in some capacity. It'll take me a while to get through everyone, so please help me out by SUBSCRIBING TO THE COMMUNITY ON STEEMPEAK.

How to Subscribe

1. On the top bar of Steempeak (the new and improved) click on COMMUNITIES.
2. On your PC, click 'Control + F' and search for 'Natural Medicine'
3. Click 'Subscribe'
4. Then you're in! Woo hoo! And if you're a delegator, you'll get a groovy badge.
