Day # 3, Post # 3, Introduce myself, Chapter # 3: Travelling
Hello Community!
Hope you had a lovely time there where you are. We had a great sunny day yesterday - the first one during the last 4 weeks. What a pleasure! I spent the whole day out and without laptop.
As promised next chapter and let’s talk about travelling?
What is travelling for you, guys?
Do you like to change places and to feel this touristic jitters?
Me, I adore. I adore packing suitcases, all the last minute affairs before trip, all that stress like «OMG, I forgot my passport» and this list is endless…
I am always starving for new places, new pictures, historic facts and like a little girl each time when I come across something take-my-breath-away kind , you hear my loud wow=)
It is true that I always loved travelling. My family, all of us travel a lot, together of separately, for their jobs too, so for me was natural to travel frequently when I was a child. Camp sites for school summer holidays, sea holidays, see-sighting - I knew it all from the early years.
My grandma (Miss you really) was a professor and she took me to the museums and theatres as often as she could. I still keep this warm memories about how I was bombing her with all kind of questions, about sweet tea and sandwiches that we ate on our trips… I was a child and for me those visits were great adventures - we lived in a small city and to go to the theatre or exhibition we had to make a real trip!
When I grew up, I started to travel with friends too, it all became easier with obtaining driving licence and getting a car. We drove kilometres and kilometres to visit abandon manors and palaces, to visit cities and small towns, to see paintings or monuments.. All you need just to open your eyes. And have a bit of a plan to follow=)
When I moved to France, oh boy, I felt like the great Europe has opened all its territories for me… I was so eager to see all I can, to visit all places I can reach… How many castles I visited already and my list is endless. Cities, historic places, wonderful buildings, panoramas, cathedrals, fortresses…
I started my long lasting romances with Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Germany again, Netherlands, Italy again, Spain again and again, Denmark, France itself, Luxembourg, then Switzerland and again Netherlands… my tours around this countries are still going on as I am digging deeper and deeper, enlarging my personal maps further and further.
UK is a separate and such personal chapter for me, I started to write our relationships last year and this year I am coming back definitely, I made part of Scotland, I need to visit more and more. Give me more landscapes, more fogs, this British accent that I can listen for hours….
With photography travelling became vital. Being unable sometimes to cross continents and countries, I continue discovering France as I need to feed my inner traveller=) France…. We can talk about it for ages and will not say even a half…
I have two huge addictions about it: small villages and chateaux or castles.
I am wondering around with my cameras, reading its stories, breathing the air of ages and touching the walls of history.
The list of most beautiful villages definitely helps to go on=) And all my movings in - well, if I am bored - I just go discovering.
Have you ever waited several years to make your travel? When you dreamt to visit some places 15 years ago lying in your bed at night and imagining how it would be to visit them for real? about what you would feel one day seeing it?
That is what I live.
That what traveling is for me.
Each trip is a separate story. Most of these stories started with the must-visit note, written once in the past. I started to make those notes from the age of 12. Actually tons of facts and places that I wrote down… later I sorted them by countries and now I can prepare the trip that suits me perfectly, that is full of my places I dreamt to visit being a child, a teenager, an adolescent… These trips are full of my own and so personal emotions…
It is like writing and finishing the story that you have started to write many years ago but abandoned in search of inspiration…
I live it all the time. And it is breathtaking. Shocking and powerful feeling. And I love it.
I am delightful to show you those places that you probably have not been yet to=)
Thanks for reading!
Cheers
