This story is from my childhood. This is what influenced my choice of drawing path.
Around 2003, my friend and I went to a magazine shop. Among the huge assortment, our attention was attracted by a beautiful magazine cover W.I.T.C.H. (I used to read Ninja Turtle comics. But I thought it was for boys. And I was not very interested, I could not immerse myself in the story.) This was my first comic book that I read excitedly. The magazine was very high-quality, for girls (as it seemed to me).
And the plot that arises around extraordinary abilities is my passion. About once a month, my friend and I would race around town looking for a new issue of the magazine. And one day I came up with an idea - I also want to create something just as beautiful. And it was then that the desire came to me to learn how to draw people and portraits.
All through the summer of 2004, I tried to learn how to draw by drawing a comic book. But I couldn't do it even a little bit. And I get idea number two. I need to go learn how to draw. And besides art school, I couldn't think of anything else. And in the fall of that year, by the way, my friend and I are going to art school.
Unfortunately, while I was in school, I forgot what feeling was the impulse of my path. And now, 18 years later, it has once again visited my heart.
At the very beginning of the spring of this year, I learn from the artist that she collaborates in one project, which in her childhood, just like me, prompted me to start drawing. She told me that in Russia, a comic book publisher is starting to print copies of my childhood favorites. I am very far from the world of comics today. And perhaps W. I. T. C. H. is the only favorite comic book in my life that I have ever read.
And I participated in the first pre-order of the comic book. You're buying a book that hasn't been printed yet. In fact, an interesting feeling, and I would like to repeat it. I felt somewhat like an active participant in the creation of this project.
Needless to say, the quality exceeded my expectations.
The pages are dense, the printing is uniform. I think that even the smell of paint is similar to the one that was in my childhood. And another new feeling that appeared to me after buying this beauty. I wanted to create my own library. Up to this point, I preferred e-books, based on considerations of saving money and space. But when I was able to feel so much joy and inspiration from a printed book, I wanted to have a lot of them. Collectors of printed books, I'm with you now))
