My first sea this year. It seems that there is a tradition to draw one sea a year. The painting is made in oil. The format is approximately A4. How long do you think it took me to write this picture? Approximately 7-8 hours. I naively assumed that I would finish the work in an hour or two. And two hours passed only on the first two rows of waves.
My profile cap says that I love portraits, flowers, and the sea. But mostly you only see portraits. And it looks like this is my first picture of the sea. To be honest, I was afraid of a large number of objects. And I figured that if I worked as a "printer", I wouldn't get confused. Therefore, I did the work in sections at once in full force. I drew immediately with oil without any preliminary drawing.
For some reason, it seemed to me that drawing the sea is very similar to drawing a portrait. Waves have structure and order. In my opinion, drawing nature allows more freedom. Portrait no.
I used four tubes of paint. And oil painting paper.
