This big tree that stands in Kings Park Western Australia is about 750 years old !!. It was removed from the Kimberley’s in the outback of Australia as a gift from the Gija people. It took over 3200 km to reach Perth from its original home in Telegraph Creek.

These types of boab trees can usually live up to 2000 years which makes this one quite young still. The boab tree was removed from its home in the Kimberley due to construction in the area of a road that needed a overpass due to regular rising water levels. They had immediate problems when tried to load the massive tree on the truck as it weighed twice as much as they thought it would as the roots were encased in granite rock.
