"Better Days"
I know poverty has eaten deep,
she has overwhelmed your ship.
I know expectation has betrayed,
your dreams she has cursed to fade.
I know your seeds seems not to yield,
even when those hands till till they bleed.
I know family and society scorn,
"he's nothing but a grain of corn".
I know time's zealously impatient,
to your plea, she's wilfully negligent.
I know! I know! I know!
The wrath, the shame, the woe.
Please, do not do anything rash,
don't dispose your life like its trash.
With life hope's always around
drop sugar, ant will sure surround.
Hard times are part of life's package
though quite stubborn a crew to manage,
Their reign, an illusion of eternity,
but soon they'll make way for reality.
Better days are so so close,
smile will soon be in overdose.
Your barn will soon be surplus,
that purse soon will be pompous.
Family with your name will boast
"do you know my son, the TV host?"
Your picture will be on every stage,
society will bow, in total homage.
