Working on a bunch of cool design stuff for a future Splinterlands update. Finally, had to step away from the laptop for sustenance.
Took the family to dinner. My daughter is going back to college tomorrow, so we decided to splurge on some good food and a movie rental.
Since my wife was driving, I figured I would take the opportunity to sketch something out on the iPad. A few days ago I had mentioned how I wanted to make a Steem-based comic strip. This was a great opportunity to further refine the style and work flow.
The challenge was going to be that the artistic style needed to be something that I could bang out during a car ride. If I could create cartoon sequences while being jostled around in the car, then theoretically I might be able to squeeze the project into my semi-daily life. Whenever I'm in the passenger seat, I'll scribble out a little artwork. Once I have enough artwork to make the panels, I can post another strip.
At least, it sounds reasonable in my head.
Essentially, the project's rate of progress would be dependent on how often we hop in the car, haha,
So to test out this new idea, I didn't even bother to make clean lines. The stylus was jumping all over the screen as the car's stops, starts, and general movement had its way with my hand. But that's okay. I figured it would result in a unique and quirky style all its own.
The overall premise of the comic will be based on characters that make Steem part of their daily life. But there will be some pretty outrageous happenings that span from the disturbing to the absurd.
Like an alien creature that seeks to destroy mankind.

I'll try to share more sneak peaks into the process whenever I ride in the passenger seat again. Which is most of the time, haha. My wife says I drive too slow...
Unless I think of something better (or you do!), the comic strip will be called WHAT THE FORK.
Since there's another hard fork around the corner, it's probably good timing.
