It's been a while since I share something on this great platform. Really, I have been very busy to such extend that I hadn't the time to write any article here.
But hey! I am back like I never left.
I like to say a Big thanks to all of you for the support you have shown to me.
Today in scale
I was again in school today with my pupils. It was the Second period at about 8:54 am (Nigerian time). I came in to teach them as usual. Our focal point ( topic) was Grammar that's in English. For their level, (nursery one) its all about constructing simple sentences.
I then wrote simple sentences
- I ate beans last night,
- I brushed my teeth this morning,
- We are singing...
Now, having written all these sentences, I asked all the pupils to repeat after me as I read out loud all the sentences.
While we were all doing that and having fun, a small girl called Geraldine (4 years old) was not doing the correct thing. She will follow and read out loud only the second and third sentence. But she will keep quiet as we read out loud the first sentence.
When I noticed that, I then asked her " Geraldine, why do keep your mouth shut when it's time to read out loud the first sentence on the board, but you will go ahead to read out loud others,? ".
Then she replied " uncle, it's because my Mumm prepared rice and stew last night and she didn't put beans. So, I don't want to lie because I didn't take beans last night".
