There is "Lembeh" on the Red Sea, a paradise for an underwater macro photographer. It's in Dahab. Just in the center. Directly opposite restaurants and hotels. Not looking at the fact that there are always a lot of people here. They swim, play, conduct training, a lot of other things. But in the water you can always find amazing and unusual creatures, which is extremely difficult to see elsewhere in the Red Sea.

Meet - Lighthouse. At first glance, an unremarkable dive site. But if you look closely, you can see a lot of interesting things. Especially at night. And this story happened to me there on a night dive.

When I noticed a bright spot in the light of the flashlight, I did not immediately understand what it was. Too out of the general gray-green picture of sand and covered with all sorts of garbage grass it was. Too "not from here". In addition, I have never before seen similar sea creatures. So even looking at it point-blank I did not immediately believe that it is alive.

Tiny, looking toy scales, thin like a thrown candy candy wrapper body. Besides, it did not react to me at all ... It took several minutes for this species of the soles family(Soleidae) to decide to show activity and swim from place to place.

And then another surprise awaited me, the second one was the same fish. Although there is not exactly the same: it was slightly larger: centimeters 8 to 4-5 first. Also was slightly less bright. Immediately it became clear that it was a male and a female (although I guess who is who I would not have made up my mind).

Meanwhile, they lay down next to each other and were worried, giving a little picture of themselves. Several times in the course of 15 minutes, while I was shooting them, they slightly changed their position relative to each other, but not more than 15-20 cm.
At the same time I was attracted by a fierce protruding spout, giving the portrait of this fish of emotionality. By the way it is thanks to him that you can distinguish the soles from say flounder.

Why did I say it was motionless? Because the movements of thesoles require a separate description. All the colored fringe of the fins around the trunk begins to tremble and perform fast wave movements. At the same time the fish breaks off from the bottom and becomes like a boat on an air cushion. Then the oscillations of the fins accelerate and it quickly swims away, while retaining a small distance from the bottom. It seems to be repeating its outlines.

I must say that those few minutes spent with them became one of the most memorable from the whole trip. This is to the question that many need necessarily some large animals under water. I also got great pleasure and a lot of good photos thanks to a fish in 5cm lying on the sand at a depth of less than 10m.

By the way, I especially liked her portraits on the open diaphragm, when you can distinguish only a funny nose or eyes. Completely abstracted from the gray sand and dirty grass.
