Yesterday, as I pedalled into Old Havana, I felt like Deadpool and Wolverine (untamed and unredeemed) before meeting Cassandra Nova in the Void. 😂
Have you seen that film? Don’t worry if you haven’t, you don’t need it to understand this post from a badass cyclist - No sé si será correcto ese término... ruda quizás es mejor…
When I saw that drawing on the wall and what it said (alluding to some guy called Bebeshito and one of his hits)… I had no doubt the Time Ripper is already doing its thing to erase my Universe. I don’t know if it was some Paradox that set it in motion, or if we’ve reached the part where we need to try short-circuiting the sadistic Cassandra… but hey, this definitely doesn’t look good.
“What are we going to do,” I told myself. “We’re in the 11/11 portal!!!”
γνῶθι σαυτόν... Sorry, I meant: Know thyself, a phrase that reaches me from my days as a priestess in Delphi.
Remember, Anaray, you are not what you lose; you are what remains after everything burns.
For a moment, I thought I was crossing a thin layer of time—and that these walls of Apollo’s temple had been translated by AI.
Everything was there: the word 'Vacío'(Void), birds… and everything else. 😶
I think I finally understood:

I summarised the first part of yesterday’s ride in this video. It was over 30 km round trip. In the first stretch, I passed through the municipalities of Cerro, Centro Habana, and Old Havana.
On the way back, I crossed all that again and headed into El Vedado, descending along Avenida de los Presidentes to merge onto Línea Street. At the iron bridge in Miramar, I stopped to record the wind coming from the sea.
A cold front is coming in, and they say it’s going to be really cold—the kind of cold that feels like a scorching summer to Europeans, perfect for shorts, flip-flops, and a T-shirt, while here we’re ready to pull out the Eskimo coat.
Miramar connects to Marianao, and Marianao to Calle 100—and at home, Chanel was waiting for me, hungry, though not more than I was, of course. This cyclist could’ve devoured a… a whole pot of meat. She also arrived with a cramp in one foot. But as soon as I got off the bike and walked on solid ground, it went away. I was clearly in need of anchoring.
Ahhh… sorry. Change of plans—the post about the university students’ work on bird ringing is still postponed until next week.
