“Yes, if you're looking for infinity, just close your eyes!”
I took these photos a couple days ago and I was thinking about a book I read a long time ago, and I think I was too young to read it. Today I was flipping through it and some of the lines were very familiar to me. I remember being impressed with this amazing writer at the time, Milan Kundera, author of The Unbearable Lightness of Being. This masterpiece led me to another I enjoyed a lot, The Immortality, and then I wanted to read The Joke but I couldn't find the book anywhere. It wasn't like today as you can read a PDF and if you don't have enough time, or you're lazy to read, an audiobook can solve many problems.
But I'll tell you briefly why I thought of The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
In his book, the Czech writer, naturalized french, in addition to dealing with topics such as love, infidelity, oppression, freedom... he tried to highlight the idea that life itself is light and insignificant, unless we know how to fill it with meaning with our own choices and decisions. He also tries to define love many times.
This little house is very close to mine. Strong meteorological events have occurred, I wouldn't be able to count them, but the ones that have, have hurt her a lot and she is still standing. We don't know for sure what the mystery is. But in that space it occupies, could be nothing left.
I'm also not clear who it belongs to, because first a gentleman lived in it and died and now he is the one who are living there.
I was thinking about how the years go by. What we have been able to do with our lives, where we were and where we are now. I think it can be a cause for rejoicing to be able to say after so much time that we moved forward a little at least or that we evolved, I mean, in some sense.
These photos make me think about all that and that I must reread The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
