Lately, there's been an increase in news stories involving women who have killed their newborn babies. I was just reading about one young woman who killed her baby and buried him in the backyard of her parents' house. People were wondering why on Earth she would carry a baby to full term, then decide to destroy it like that.
Unfortunately, this type of thing has been going on since the beginning of time, and it most likely happens a lot more than most of us thinks it does. But there have always been stories like these out there, whether it was about women who kill their newborns or women who kill their toddlers or older children . Everyone wants to know what would make a mother snap to the point of murdering her own offspring. But there could be many answers to that question, the biggest one being mental illness.
