Although I know that we all take certain risks when we are online, it's still upsetting to know that we are being tracked by companies that we buy things from online, or just when we do searches for certain items.
That is such an invasion of privacy, but those companies only see it as good business. This practice makes us have to repeatedly clear our browsing history or activate the Do Not Track option or do other things to keep them from tracking us.
They don't seem to realize that this type of tactic makes them look like stalkers and harassers. I don't mind getting an email about certain items that I may be interested in from time to time, but I don't like to see items that I've searched for or bought online constantly popping up on a page I'm on. That's just aggressive sales tactics by these companies, and it's creepy.
