The problem with EOS is that it costs quite a fair amount to get an account created, and then after that you have to deal with CPU/RAM usage as you're performing actions. EOS has a lot of potential, but that, and the fact that it's almost entirely supported by gambling has been crippling it from having any real threat in terms of socials such as Steem/Steemit.
