Since several days ago we have been about this contest "Movies that rocked your childhood! "which is promoted by the "CineTv" community, in which we must make a publication where we write about those movies that had a great impact in our childhood; being honest I can write about many movies, different genres, comedies, action, science fiction and even horror, but I decided to stay with a genre that I love as a child and as an adult, I decided to write about the film where I discovered how is "The Hero's Journey", a story full of wizards, outlaws, brave maiden, jesters, conditional friendship, a great and fearsome villain and a young hero with a great power to discover, without any doubt the movie that influenced me to believe in the force, STAR WARS.
Desde hace varios días se sobre este concurso "Movies that rocked your childhood!" el cual es promocionado por la comunidad de "CineTv", en el cual debemos hacer una publicación en donde escribimos sobre esas películas que tuvieron un gran impacto en nuestra niñez; siendo sincero puedo escribir sobre muchas películas, diferentes géneros, comedias, acción, ciencia-ficción y hasta terror, pero decidí en quedarme con un género que me gusta mucho tanto de niño como de adulto, decidí escribir sobre el film en dónde descubrí cómo es "El Viaje del Héroe", una historia llena de hechiceros, forajidos, valiente doncella, bufones, amistad condicional, un gran y temible villano y un joven héroe con un gran poder a descubrir, sin ninguna duda la película que me influyó a creer en la fuerza, STAR WARS.
When I was a kid I saw many science fiction movies like "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial", "Back to the Future", "TRON" and the first trilogy of STAR WARS, all special for me, very good stories with excellent characters, but among all those movies without any doubt that the first film of the saga based on a story in a very distant universe, was the one that caused me a great impact. The first thing I remember when I saw this film for the first time, was the excitement of my parents, my mother especially was very attentive to how this story begins, since the first great character that would appear would be nothing more and nothing less than "Darth Vader" I personally was not afraid, but I was very excited, it is inevitable not to be able to contemplate what surely can be one of the best villains in the history of cinema, presence, voice, design, power, as a child I thought it was a robot, but it was still a character as I said shocking and more accompanied by that music which would become as iconic as it is the saga itself, Similarly happens with the appearance of "Luke Skywalker" by that time my parents realized that I was already in the movie, they no longer spoke and let me enjoy everything that happened, the search for "General Kenobi" of the bar scene that may be the first scene that I liked the most when I saw it for the first time, I think it was because of the use of the lightsaber, what it could do as a weapon, but there was something else and that is the appearance of the Millennium Falcon, for me it is one of the most iconic vehicles in the world, I always wanted to be in that ship, walk through its corridors, be a pilot of the fastest ship in the universe, there is no doubt that it is one of the best.
Cuando era niño vi muchas películas de ciencia-ficción como "E.T. El Extraterrestre", "Back to the Future", "TRON" y la primera trilogía de STAR WARS, todos especiales para mí, muy buenas historias con excelentes personajes, pero entre todas esas películas sin ninguna duda que el primer film de la saga basada en una historia en un universo muy lejano, fue la que me ocasionó un gran impacto. Lo primero que recuerdo cuando vi por primera vez este film, fue la emoción de mis padres, mi madre en especial estaba muy pendiente por cómo comienza toda esta historia, ya que el primer gran personaje que aparecería sería nada más y nada menos que "Darth Vader" yo personalmente no tenía miedo, pero si estaba muy emocionado, es inevitable no poder contemplar al que seguramente puede ser uno de los mejores villanos de la historia del cine, presencia, voz, diseño, poder, de niño pensaba que se trataba de un robot, pero de igual forma era un personaje como ya dije impactante y más acompañada por esa música la cual se volvería igual de icónica como lo es la saga en sí, de igual forma ocurre con la aparición de "Luke Skywalker" para ese momento mis padres se dieron cuenta de que ya estaba metido en la película, ya no hablaban y dejaban que disfrutará de todo lo que sucedía, de la búsqueda del "General Kenobi" de la escena del bar que puede ser la primera escena que más me ha gustado cuando la vi por primera vez, creo que fue por el uso del sable de luz, lo que pudiera hacer como arma, pero hubo algo más y es la aparición del Halcón Milenario, para mí es uno de los vehículos más icónicos en el mundo, siempre quise estar en esa nave, caminar por sus pasillos, ser piloto de la nave más rápida del universo, no hay duda que es una de las mejores.
I could describe scene by scene how important this movie was for me, it is an extremely funny film, entertaining, a great beginning for this great story about awesome heroes and villains, STAR WARS must have so many things that were shocking for example the "Landspeeder", antigravity vehicle that Luke uses when he goes in search of old Ben Kenobi, as a kid I could not believe my eyes, I thought and wondered "How did they do that?" The naturalness of that scene was something that impressed me a lot, it looked very real and I even came to think that that vehicle did float, no other scene in the other films looked as perfect as that one, another of my favorite scenes, next to the strange, accidental and necessary rescue to Princess Leia, a different character, an unexpected leader for this group of heroes and I can say that Leia is one of my favorite characters. The adventures of each of these characters is something that I always liked to see and when there was all this problem of transmission rights, changes, new scenes, always made me miss even more what I saw as a child with my parents, a year ago I could see this movie again and I felt nostalgic for those good moments, because this together with the one called Episode VI "Return of the Jedi" were my favorite movies of the original trilogy when I was a child.
Pudiera describir escena por escena lo importante que fue esta película para mí, es un film sumamente divertido, entretenido, un gran comienzo para esta gran historia sobre impresionantes héroes y villanos, STAR WARS debe tener tantas cosas que fueron impactantes por ejemplo el "Landspeeder", vehículo antigravedad que usa Luke cuando va en búsquedas del viejo Ben Kenobi, yo de niño no podía creer lo que veía, pensaba y me preguntaba "¿Cómo habían hecho eso?" La naturalidad de esa escena era algo que me impresionaba mucho, se veía muy real y hasta llegué a pensar que ese vehículo si flotaba, ninguna otra escena en los demás films se veía tan perfecta como esa, otra de mis escenas favoritas, junto al extraño, accidentado y necesario rescate a la princesa Leia, un personaje diferente, una líder inesperada para este grupo de héroes y puedo decir que Leia es uno de mis personajes favoritos. Las aventuras de cada uno de estos personajes es algo que siempre me gustó de ver y cuando existió todo esté problema de derechos de transmisión, cambios, escenas nuevas, siempre me hizo añorar aún más lo que vi de niño con mis padres, hace un año pude ver nuevamente está película y añore muy buenos momentos, ya que está junto a la llamada Episodio VI "El Retorno del Jedi" eran mis películas favoritas de la trilogía original cuando era niño.
Now with respect to the influence that this story left in me, I think the easiest answer is to say that from the moment I heard Obi-Wan Kenobi say "May the Force be with you" I took this phrase and I applied it to anything, to do any prank, to practice any sport, to take any exam at school, high school and university, to enter the work, there is nothing where I can use "The Force" in something positive, to think that everything will be fine because I believe in me, I have always thought that this phrase is one of the most positive that I have heard and that I do not mind to continue practicing and of course from that scene where Luke can hear Obi-Wan tell him to use the force, it is clear that what he means is that each one of us must believe in ourselves, we can fail, but surely at some point we will be victorious because we have the strength to move forward, this is the great influence that left this story made by George Lucas.
Ahora con respecto a la influencia que dejó está historia en mí, creo que la respuesta más fácil es decir que desde el momento de escuchar a Obi-Wan Kenobi decir "Que la Fuerza te acompañe" tomé está frase y la apliqué para cualquier cosa, al hacer alguna travesura, al practicar cualquier deporte, al presentar cualquier examen en la escuela, liceo y universidad, al entrar al trabajo, no hay nada en donde pueda usar "La Fuerza" en algo positivo, en pensar que todo saldrá bien porque creo en mí, siempre he pensado que está frase es una de las más positivas que he escuchado y que no me importa seguir practicando y por supuesto desde esa escena en dónde Luke puede escuchar a Obi-Wan decir que use la fuerza, es claro que lo que quiere decir que cada uno debemos creer en nosotros mismos, podemos fallar, pero seguramente en algún momento seremos victoriosos por qué tenemos fuerza de seguir adelante, está es la gran influencia que dejó esta historia hecha por George Lucas.
