It was such a wonderful short holiday to Switzerland. 5 days but felt like I travelled for 15 days. Made the best use of every moment there and tried to cover as much as I could. I bought the 3 day Swiss pass that helped me visit any place around Switzerland without having to bother for individual tickets every time I would want to go anywhere. Today morning returned back to Muscat with happy memories and while I am still recovering from my jet lag and need to even recover from all the hectic last few days tiredness, I am still excited to write something about my journey. Yesterday we had a night flight from Zurich so we decided to spend the day in Zurich itself. After being around the Zurich Lake we decided to visit the Zoo. It was not on our plan but we saw a bus going to the Zoo and somehow my hubby is very fond of visiting Zoos so we then decided to get going there.
Tram no 6 from outside the Zurich main station took us straight to the Zoo
The Zoo is an open Zoo developed in the Forest area in a complete natural environment. I normally do not appreciate Zoo because I feel very bad to see the animals caged up, but this one was a little better one as it provides ample sample and a very natural environment for animals. But still at the end of the day they are caged up.
As we entered the first section was of birds. The cocks were all moving around freely, they had their own zone but they were left open. These little penguins were very adorable.
Not the best peacock I have seen but was a charming one
This is the Mongolian Camel breed, not very common to see them even in desert areas.
There were a couple of Yaks. These are some animals not common in our region so surely very fascinating
The Tiger is sleeping up there, could barely see and the Lion we did not see only, guess was in his den resting
These white snow leopards, there were 3 of them, the mother and the 2 baby cubs. they were all in a play mood and we had a good glimpse of them
The wolves were at their play. One animal that I do not like :-)
These Lamas were very friendly. One of them came towards us and we could pat him
They were the best and this whole section of Monkeys and Apes was crowded with children. The little ones were so amused with their tricks. Even I enjoyed watching them :-)

These Giraffes were the beauty in this whole place. I like this animal, I fancy them a lot due to their unique body type.
Zebras, another unique animal.
The Fish Aquarium part was also nice, though it was a very small one and not many fancy fishes
There were Bears, but again they were busy in their own activity and I could not get a good glimpse
And the Elephants
Zoo for sure is very much enjoyed by Children, but at the same time even we adults do enjoy once in a while visiting a Zoo. We had to make it fast because we had to wind up for the day and leave for the Airport. We did miss out some parts and some we just rushed it, but still I enjoyed the time.
