Around 3 weeks back I shared updates of my Garden and of the Banana tree growing with fruits on it. I had thought it would take a month or so before I could pluck it but then in around 10 days time only my gardener told me we could remove the bananas from the tree and then let it ripe outside. I was not sure if that was the right thing to do, but then after all he is the gardener and has more knowledge. I do have sense that fruits can ripe after plucking, so we removed the bunch.

I removed this full bunch

They were too many for my own consumption so I gave half to the gardener and kept half of the bunch, which were also like 2 dozen. Bananas once they ripe then you need to finish them soon, else they get black fast. The advice from my gardener was once removed, we wrap it up in paper and put it in a bag, with the warmth they would ripe. I followed his instructions.

Put it in the bag and then tied it up.

Every day I kept checking if they were ready to eat or not. Even after 5 days I did not see any progress. So then I decided to try my way, which I normally do for Avocados. If they are not ripe and ready to eat, I wrap them up in newspaper and put them in the oven. I did the same for this bunch, wrapped up well in the news paper and placed them in the oven. In just 1.5 days I checked and they were ready.

The full lot is ready now. I made a mistake though, I should have made 2 batches and put one after another, because now so many together cannot be finished. For this time I distributed some to my neighbors, they were more then happy.

Trying out one to taste the fruit of my own garden. Full satisfaction.
