My Little Girl is Top 3 in Magarang Kasuotan!*

If you look at this collage, this is literally my whole day as a full-time mom yesterday during Buwan ng Wika 2026 at Linangkayan Elementary School.

My morning started so early. I was running around the house preparing two kids - my daughter Murry and her kuya in his barong. I had to make sure their costumes were perfect, their hair was fixed, and they had eaten breakfast. It's tiring, but when you see them ready and smiling, all the pagod disappears.

My daughter had two costumes. First, her red floral Filipiniana where she looked so bright and happy, smiling for the camera while waiting for her turn to dance on stage. Second, her brown Katutubo-inspired costume for the Magarang Kasuotan competition. I made sure her accessories and her sash were in place.

When the dancing started, I was that mom in the crowd taking videos and cheering the loudest. My heart was beating so fast, not because I wanted her to win, but because I was just so proud to see her confident on stage.

And then the best part happened. They called her name. Top 3 - Magarang Kasuotan! My daughter! I screamed, I clapped, I almost cried. My little girl, who was just shy a few months ago, is now standing on stage with a yellow sash and a big award.

We had a group photo with the teachers, and I just kept staring at her. This is the reward for all the puyat, all the tahi, all the effort.

To all full-time moms out there, this is our win too. When our kids shine, we shine.

I am so, so proud of you, anak. You made Mama the happiest yesterday!
