On a lighter note from last night's blog...
I had to take my little man in for his 4 year old vaccinations yesterday after he finished kindergarten. Ahhh - I admit it!! I am not an antivaccination addict and I happily take my son in to have his shots! I am not about to go into a million arguments at the moment as to the "why's and wherefores" - I'ld rather tell you my little story.
We were in the Nursing Community Center and it was loud - very loud. This was probably my only argument I do have against vaccinations - having to wait with a number just to get the paperwork processed, then wait to get the shots done. The babies and little kids around us were putting up a good show - but that was nothing compared to the lung function activity my little one could produce. He cried, and cried, then cried even louder. By the time we got to the nurses desk, I was asked:
"Does he have a bad experience from needles?"
"No. He's autistic and doesn't like different environments."
I have to say it - the nurses were sweet, they got him to skip the queue and go straight in for his injection and then wait in a quiet area to make certain that there was no reaction. I could have told them though - if his loud cries weren't upsetting anyone else - they didn't upset me.
There is a lovely Steemian,
Still, they were lovely about making the process easy for him (and saving the ear drums of other people in the Community Center lol). The injections were quick and they even blew bubbles for him lol. That consideration is appreciated. There was no judgement from anyone. It was truly appreciated!! :)
