Will ETH retain a significant share of the blockchain or will other blockchains take a large share in the coming years.

The migration to ETH2.0 is progressing very carefully since there is a huge amount of TVL on the blockchain. The team must be very nervous and are taking there time and we can expect delays in case of any mistakes with adoption and the perspective for it.

Are we just holding ETH because its EVM compatible?

We could say we its a good job we hold ETH now, because without it, DeFI wouldnt be with us now.
