Yes how awesome is it to find out that the novel that inspired Frank Herbert's Dune.. has been brought to the screen. it's like watching star wars and going what inspired this great saga. To find out it's Dune and then to find out for Dune it's Foundation. So that means Foundation has quite the expectation.

I haven't read the books on Foundation. I probably will start to read them by the end of the season. I read almost every novel on Dune. However i can see clearly the connections between Foundation and Dune. I can see the seed's planted in the mind of Frank Herbert.

I can get behind having science fiction content more for children. I think star wars did a great job of merging a series adults could be very enterained by and get into the romanticism and at the same time an 8 year old kid be taken in by the ewoks or r2d2.

However there are novels like what PKD does i think that can't be contained and done in such a way. I think these novels are very important to be told in their truest and grittiest nature in that these could represent glimpses into our future or cautionary tales into the future of mankind.

it's i think no accident that i'm a big sci fi guy. However i'm aware many areas of the sci fi genre have inspired the next generation of great thinkers and inventors. They have also spurred us on to take care of our futures or as ugly as this looks this can happen to you all and you need to be ready. Which is what consequently Foundation is about. Foundation is about a story within a story of a civilization of people predicing the future much like we use stories to predict ours only they are predicting from a future we image as the future and their future is a future within a future lol.

So all very interesting. My connection to sci fi and ubi works so much hand and hand because when you look at these futures what kinda world do you see where robots do all the work and create every invention a human can think of but does it better. A world of limitless energy and ages of abundance. So you think about systems like where people have robot labor like Asimov's novel and all that dangers that can go with that. However you also think about that's our future and are we ready? lol.

I can tell you that we're not. I've spent today arguing with some moron about this very thing. About are we prepared for this future and the only thing they can think about is can they make a few bucks on a blogpost lol. if we can make a few bucks on a blogpost and if we're not doing that we're wasting our time. Like they can't imagine what we do in the past and present echoes into eternity and our future. Some just haven't and won't evolve to connect the dots.

Anyway i'm glad you wanna give foundation a watch a certainly think its worth it. if you haven't read the books you probably will like it.. i think the bookreaders may be the only people who don't lol. As far as you girlfriend to watch it with. There are some romantic elements in it may suit that very well so enjoy!
