You made me want to watch Foundation. I didn't know about the show before this article and I didn't know it was an Isaac Asimov book first. I've not read Asimov yet but I've read a bit of PKD, Vonnegut, Bradbury, Le Guin and some of the 1st dune book. I think so much of the culture we have comes from science fiction concepts and ideas established in books, tv shows and movies. Essentially, science fiction makes us question reality which I think can only be a good thing for all people to practice doing constantly.

I think we need more science fiction shows for kids to be able to watch, like age 8 and up, like how you could watch Dr. Who when you were a kid or you could watch the original Star Wars or you could listen to Rush or read comics. I think a lot of "syfy" now is not breaking new ground with storytelling or production and it is definitely not accessible or enjoyable to boot. I'm excited to watch this with my girlfriend and see if we can get into it, maybe we'll even find the books and read them. It sucks that it's on AppleTV but it's got to be out there sailing on the friendly seas somewhere ;)
