This is my post for #freewriters Tuesday prompt respect the goose hosted by @mariannewest
I decided to let the pompano starve today, maybe they will want to bite the next time I go.
My husband and I went back up the creek to castnet goats and mullet. The wind was blowing so hard that I had to drop the anchor after each throw. Pulling it time after time in 15 feet of water was not good on my back.
We are both feeling our ages. He thinks he has another hernia, his belly hurts as it did with his other hernia but on the other side, and throwing a 12-foot castnet does not help. We made 130 dollars today, but he said he does not think he can throw the net all day tomorrow so if we do not go, that will knock our pay back to not making much. If he can't do it then he shouldn't.
We have one pelican that follows us all day, once in a while, it tries to get a fish out of the net but for the most part, he swims around and around the boat wanting a handout. It does this because every day when we finish, my husband feeds it a silver mullet, today he got two.
I am glad he is not a goose because I would respect the goose and feed it all our fish because if I didn't it might attack me.
I named our pelican Ruffles, his feathers stand up on top of his head and he has ruffled tail feathers.
