Hive Open Mic Week 235 // What's my age again? (Bass Cover) By @musicandreview
I'm really sorry for not complying with the theme of the week, but I couldn't come up with anything even though “The Heaven” seems to have a lot of material to cut, maybe I'm not in the mood for the kind of songs that could inspire the theme. So once again I bring you a bass cover of a song that had been playing in my head for days. Lately I have felt like listening to the songs I listened to in my adolescence and well, some of blink-182 came up in the playlist.
So I bring you “What's my age again?” from the album Enema of the State which was released in 1999. In that album we can find very famous songs like “Adam's Song” and “All the Small Things”, among others. For this bass cover I took the original song and edited it by adjusting and reducing to the right beats some sections in such a way that the most striking part of the song was kept. I removed the original bass with the Moises app to record my line cleanly.
I hope my presentation will be to everyone's liking, best regards!

Lyrics
I took her out, it was a Friday night
I wore cologne to get the feelin' right
We started makin' out and she took off my pants
But then I turned on the TV
And that's about the time she walked away from me
Nobody likes you when you're 23
And are still more amused by TV shows
What the hell is ADD?
My friends say I should act my age
What's my age again?
What's my age again?
Then later on, on the drive home
I called her mom from a payphone
I said I was the cops and your husband's in jail
This state looks down on sodomy
And that's about the time that bitch hung up on me
Nobody likes you when you're 23
And are still more amused by prank phone calls
What the hell is call ID?
My friends say I should act my age
What's my age again?
What's my age again?
And that's about the time she walked away from me
Nobody likes you when you're 23
And you still act like you're in freshman year
What the hell is wrong with me?
My friends say I should act my age
(What's my age again?)
(What's my age again?) That's about the time that she broke up with me
(Please, stay with me) no one should take themselves so seriously
(Please, stay with me) with many years ahead to fall in line
(Please, stay with me) why would you wish that on me?
(Please, stay) I never wanna act my age
(With) what's my age again?
(Me) what's my age again?
What's my age again?
