Japanese crypto-billionaire Kenji Sasaki has backed new blockchain infrastructure platform Disciplina, making a significant investment in its Initial Coin Offering (ICO).
Sasaki, who co-founded the US$9 billion cryptocurrency Cardano, said the involvement of Cardano developers in the Disciplina platform influenced his investment.
“Some of our developers from Cardano have migrated to Disciplina, which gives me confidence in the sophistication of the platform. It’s a great idea and a compelling proposition,” said Sasaki.
Disciplina founder and CEO Ilya Nikiforov said Sasaki’s endorsement was a positive indication of the platform’s potential.
“We are thrilled that Mr Sasaki sees the opportunity for our platform to improve the way academic records are managed,” said Nikiforov.
The Disciplina platform will use infrastructure based technology to verify personal profiles with academic and professional achievements and eliminate false qualifications.
The company is seeking to raise US$15 million to complete the development of the platform.
