Good day to all Splinterlands fans and players! We're here to discuss another battle rule secret, which is Counterspell. This rule is an anti-magic technique that allows monsters to inflict returned damage, but only to magic-type monsters.
My Battle Details
This week battle is composed of 3 battle rule, 50 mana requirement and elements allowed for the battle are fire, life, neutral and death. The 3 battle rules are lost legendaries, odd ones out and counterspell.
Details of rules:
- Lost legendaries - This rule does not allow legendary monsters in the battle field.
- Odd ones out - Only odd monsters with odd mana cost will enter the battle. Summoners are not affected by this rule.
- Counterspell - All monster will receive magic reflect ability. This rule is applicable to magic type attack monsters, wherein they will have a return damage. The return damage will be equal to the damage of attacker divided by 2. Magic monsters with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from reflected magic attacks. The Amplify ability increases damage.
Line Up
For this battle, I picked death element. I choose max level Thadius Brood for this battle. Thadius Brood has an ability of reducing magic attack and health by 1. Below is the list of my line up. My thinking why this was my line up is that I want my first position monster to absorb all the damage so my 2nd to last position monster could do the attack. I'm expecting that since there is counterspell rule, my enemy will not use magic. I have also consider a monster that can do sneak just incase my enemy position support monsters and high damager range type at the rear. For my line up, I put a monster at the 2nd to the last position that has a repair ability to restore armor.
| Night Ghoul Lvl 6 | 11 mana,5 melee damage, 2 speed, 5 armor, 10 healh | Taunt, Forcefield |
|---|---|---|
| Gargoya Devil Lvl 8 | 7 mana, 4 range damage, 3 speed, 2 armor, 5 health | Flying, close range, deathblow |
| Silent Shavi Lvl 10 | 5 mana, 4 melee damage, 6 speed, 7 health | Sneak, Cripple, Piercing |
| Dhampir Stalker Lvl 8 | 7 mana, 5 range damage, 4 speed, 7 health | Truestrike, Deathblow |
| Junker Lvl 6 | 7 mana, 3 melee damage, 3 speed, 7 health | Reach, Repair |
| Queen of Crows Lvl 5 | 9 mana, 2 range damage, 2 speed, 13 health | Close range, headwinds, slow |

Battle Analysis
Here are some reasons which I believe that my positioning and line up were better than my enemy.
Number of monsters that can inflict damage: In my lineup, only one monster cannot attack as I positioned a melee attack type on the fifth position. My purpose in doing this is to provide support; its repair ability would be great as it restores armor and can be a tank in the rear once my last position monster is taken out. My second to fourth position monsters have the most damage and need protection. My hitman is position in the 3rd position "Silent Sha-vi". Meanwhile, my enemy has only three monsters that can provide damage.
Focusing the damage in one direction can be achieved by placing a monster with the taunt ability. This will draw the attention of the enemy's monsters and allow my other monsters to attack more freely. In my lineup, I have a support monster positioned at the rear with the abilities of slow and headwinds. These abilities can help cancel out General Sloan's +1 range and slow down my enemy, providing a significant advantage in the battle.
I think that's it for my battle in Splinterlands with counterspell rule, see you again in the next battle mage secrets. For those who are interest of some fun and challenging game here is my referal link: https://splinterlands.com?ref=multicastx7
Real life Assessment
It would be really nice if we had counterspell for bad omen and bad luck. Sometimes, we experience difficulties - the so-called "hard moments" - which I believe are a part of life. We need to experience them, as they help us to have a better future once we overcome them. What matters is having loved ones who stay with us no matter the difficulty we encounter. For me, this is my family - having a family of my own, a family in my church, a family in my work, and a family in my gaming. They are my greatest counterspell
